CCSD was established as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in 1986 and ever since it has engaged itself in the welfare of children coming from the disadvantaged families.

In keeping with the crucial role of social service in the country's development and realizing the need to contribute to child development in light of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Centre adheres to the principle of helping children live a dignified life and fostering a feeling of peace, forbearance, equality, unity and consensus.

Consistent with its vision the Centre aims at carrying out child development programmes with a pure feeling of social service and without discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, colour, language, sex and religion.

Besides, it also aims to conduct special programmes in an institutionalized way to safeguard the interesets and well-being of children.
